A strong advocate for education, Sukhee dedicated significant city resources to support Irvine’s schools—investing in students, families, and teachers while prioritizing long-term community benefits over short-term politics.
After completing two successful terms as mayor, Sukhee served as Special Advisor to UC Irvine Chancellor Michael Drake on Global Engagement, helping expand UCI’s institutional partnerships with prestigious universities abroad.
